Welcome! Mind-Changing Ideas is a blog about how you can harness the power of ideas to make sense of the modern world and thrive in it.
The objective is to discuss ideas that can shake up the foundation of your worldview. We all need to "reconstruct" our worldview at least once in our lifetime, especially at this critical time in human history.

Hello! I am Hector Sierra, author of Mind-Changing Ideas. I strongly believe in the power of ideas to change peoples’ minds. Working for many years as an economist for the World Bank in different regions of the world gave me two important perspectives. First, most people are receptive to ideas irrespective of their cultural, ethnic or religious background. Second, it is critical to sensitize people to the many existential challenges facing humanity, and the ways in which we can collectively address them. This is what drove me to create this blog. My objective is not to find closure and final answers to the ideas presented, but to bring the controversies and issues in stark relief and open them to discussion. I also believe this is the best way to change peoples’ minds.
